Ibanez JPM100 P1 John Petrucci - RARE First-Run Japan, Multi-Color Pickups (Picasso)
$24,999.00
One of the rarest John Petrucci guitars Ibanez ever built — the first-run, Japan-only JPM100 "P1." This is the original batch (widely believed among collectors to be the "JPM100A"), made in tiny numbers in 1995–96 — the very version John played during the Images and Words era and his legendary Rock Discipline instructional video. What sets the first run apart is unmistakable the moment you look at the pickups: multi-color DiMarzio humbuckers with purple & blue bobbins, exactly like Petrucci's own at the time. Later production switched to standard black pickups — these colored-bobbin examples are the holy grail of the Picasso JPMs, with estimates of only a few hundred ever made.About the screw holes around the pickups: you'll notice exposed screw holes in the body next to the humbuckers. These are completely correct — the surrounding pickup plastic was removed, exactly as seen on John Petrucci's own guitar throughout the Rock Discipline video. It's a hallmark of how these early guitars were set up, not damage. The iconic Picasso "P1" graphic — Petrucci's abstract, cubist-inspired artwork — presents beautifully. An honest, played example of a genuine piece of progressive-metal history.SpecificationsMake / Model: Ibanez JPM100 P1 (John Petrucci Signature, first-run "Picasso" graphic)Era / Origin: 1995–1996 · Made in Japan (first-run / Japan-only release)Serial: F511356Pickups: DiMarzio humbuckers with multi-color (purple/blue) bobbinsWeight: 3.40 kg (~7.5 lbs)Setup: String height ~2.0–2.1 mm at the 12th fret; freshly servicedStrings: Ernie Ball 2223 (.009–.042)Condition: Very Good — some dents and scratches, including larger dings on the corners; rear tremolo back-panel cover is missingIncludes: Gig bag (non-original) and tremolo armA true collector's grail.
