Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Cobra Burst #8 of 25 Limited Edition 2010 - Cobra Burst

This is a 2010 Gibson Custom Shop guitar and an important piece of Sam Ash history since they closed their doors after exactly 100 years in business. This may be the first time Gibson put this finish on a guitar. This is #8 of 25 produced in 2010 as part of a Sam Ash exclusive (15 for the USA, 10 for overseas markets). The guitar was purchased off the Gibson truck during a road show in Florida as part of a collection and has only been played a handful of times. The Cobra Burst finish appeared on a few runs since, but this rare guitar is easily identified by the silver stinger on the back of the headstock. The guitar is in as close to mint condition as possible and is certainly high end collector grade. This Sam Ash run is notable for many reasons, but it was also intended as a “sister” model to pair with their exclusive Black Widow model released the previous year. Both models feature beautifully quilted maple tops. Aside from the unique finish, this Cobra Burst is based loosely off of a ‘57 Les Paul Standard Goldtop reissue model. First off is the beautiful 5A figured quilt maple top. It has single-ply body binding, a long neck tenon, an ABR-1 bridge, BurstBucker 2 neck pickup, Burstbucker 3 bridge pickup, and a Les Paul Standard’s body thickness, speed knobs, ebony fretboard with MOP block inlays and multi-ply bound headstock veneer/split diamond MOP emblem of a Les Paul Custom. Additional unique features are Gibson/Schaller M6 tuners, a single-ply black truss rod cover, a TV silver stinger, special serial number, and cobra decal on the back of the headstock. And, it is also chambered. A matching cobra skin strap is included. Has all the original case candy. In person pickup only.
