Vox

Vintage 1967? Vox Wah Wah Pedal

$1,299.00

For any Lynyrd Skynyrd or Strawberry Alarm Clock (Incense And Peppermint) fans and guitarists everywhere 🎶I bought this Vox Wah-Wah Pedal from the late Ed King. For anyone that doesn’t know who Ed King was, we all know his killer guitar riff and playing on Sweet Home Alabama and being the lead guitarist in the Strawberry Alarm Clock. 🎸He had an (anonymous) ad for a Gibson Firebird in (possibly) the Los Angeles Free Press or Recycler. It was in 1971 or so. I went to the apartment he was living in, most likely in Burbank, and bought the guitar and the pedal from him. While I was there he showed me a beautiful Les Paul and a Fender Stratocaster. Neither was for sale. He was just showing me his tools.I was young and dumb, so I had the guitar modified and engraved some digits on the pedal. I didn’t keep the guitar all that long, but the Vox pedal remains. The pedal has been in storage for a couple of decades. It stopped working and I was getting some ridiculous quotes to repair it, so I put it in the closet.I took the cover off last week and found the battery connection needed replacement. I found a great repair shop nearby. The owner bought a new Vox Wah Wah when they were released in 1967. It couldn’t be in better hands. He did a clean up and brought the pedal up to snuff.Thank you, Edward’s Simi Valley Guitar And Amplifier Service! This is in all likelihood an early Italian made Vox pedal, possibly a prototype. There is no serial number, manufacturing date or origin left on the pedal. The pictures should let the more educated know all of that information.
