Upgraded Fender Standard Telecaster. Rosewood Neck, Stetsbar Bridge & EMGs
$1,500.00
Thank you for looking at this listing for my expertly modified and upgraded Fender Standard Telecaster. The alder black body is the only part left that's original so yes this is a Fender and so much more. Everything else is upgraded to the moon and back.Quick Demo:https://youtube.com/shorts/nL4pHfikILM?feature=shareMark Brown customized everything on this telecaster. He is the gold record winning guitar tech for the Doobie Brothers. His entire life is guitar and the music industry so you can trust this is not a project guitar I put together in my garage. We are relocating for a job in 2026 and forcing a lot of pairing down of non-essentials. Full disclosure, I’m more of a car guy and I’m taking multiple cars… to my wife’s frustration! This is a 2000’s Made in Mexico model. It’ll be vintage gear by the end of the decade, you fancy pants!ConditionThis guitar is heavily modified. From the luxuriously smooth rosewood neck, to the Stetsbar bridge to EMG active pickups and brass accoutrements you are working with a terrifically solid instrument. You will see a few dents and dings on it. The pocket has a chip that Mark did and fixed, but you can see it in the pics and there is zero affect on stability or playability. This chip happened when he was doing the bridge work and required some modifying to the neck pocket. The weight of this guitar is awesome. It weighs more than my PRS Custom 24. It was just tuned up and setup standard in EADGBE at Sylvan Music in Santa Cruz, CA. New 9.5 gauge strings. It is a delight to rip this thing. The tremolo flutters vibrato butterflies.Major HighlightsThe Neck:USA-Made Fender Licensed by Musikraft. Indian Rosewood Neck with the Fender Thin C carve. Premium Birdseye Maple fretboard. Rolled edges. It's really fast and I can't tell you how well the rosewood feels because it's so much more enjoyable than anything glossy or matte. I actually like this feel more than the rosewood neck on my Custom 24 Wood Library.I wanted to flip the script on a project tele so the neck is the cherry on top. This particularly beautiful Indian rosewood is something you would have to ascend to a serious price point to get in this day and age. I cannot express how fantastic this is to play and look at. It's the best part of the guitar. It's raw. It's everything. The Birdseye maple fretboard is rock hard and very pretty. When this was spec’d l, roasted maple necks and boards used to crack. they still crack, but they used to, too. Because of that, I made the decision not to get roasted. In conclusion on the fretboard wood, this is just a premium birdseye so don’t expect your Only Fans girlfriend to meet with you in person the first time you show it to her. Stainless steel frets. I have the entire build sheet included at the bottom of this listing. Please indulge yourself. I paid $700 for the neck to put it in perspective for the mandated chef’s kiss. Scale is 25.5”.Bridge/Tremolo System:Stetsbar Pro II Tremolo/Vibrato. This is my favorite tremolo. I use this more than the tremolo on my Custom 24. You can't do Dimebag bombs with it, but it nails fluttery delicate vibrato. I use the trem a lot because of how great it sounds and how easy it is to use. Mastery/Descendant tremolos are my high water mark and this is right there experientially. I haven't been able to look at Bigsby since I bought this bad boy; they’re so sloppy in feel and stability in comparison.Pickups:Active, 1990’s EMG 81 (classic, lauded model) in the bridge and EMG T in the neck. The 81 is your rock/metal/crunch pickup. Everyone rocker should have an EMG 81 guitar. Good compression. No flub. Articulate. Clear. Shreds. Loooooves gain. The T Type neck pickup is the most outstanding, clear, glassy tone to my ear. I absolutely love it and one day I will have a guitar with the 81/T setup again.9v Battery in the control cavity; not a battery box.Tuners:USA Gold Sperzle Locking Tuners. 6 inline. They do exactly what you want them to do. Easy to string. Stay in tune. Love em.Controls/Etc:Hand etched brass control plate. This is such a slick touch and custom made from Germany. It's a one-of-one and adds a classy look to separate it from the unrelenting armies of norm core Fenders. Expensive, sure. The coolest? Certainly!Brass Forney Custom Double Helix Short Flat Top Knobs with matching switch. I will also include my previous Forney controls which have patina should you want to ditch the shine for age.Gold strap locks and strap included if you need them.Includes Fender Urban Camo Gig Bag. It made me love gig bags again!Neck Specs:Orientation: Right Number Frets: 22 fretScale Length: 25.5 Standard FenderShaft Wood: Indian Rosewood Fb Wood: Birdseye Premium Grade FB Style: Slab StyleNut Width: 1-11/16 (42.85mm)Heel Width: Custom Fender 2-1/4 (57.15mm)Truss Rod: Dual Acting Adjust @ HeadFB Radius: 10Fret Wire: Medium 7105 Stainless SteelTuner Holes: 10 MM (Sperzel/Gotoh/Schaller)Top Dots: Black Synthetic Dots12th Dots: Wide Pre '64Side Dots: Black 2mmSide Dot Location: Centered On Finger Board Back Profile: Thin C .79 X .89Nut Style: Fender Flat BottomFB Edges: Semi RolledNut Install: Install Slotted TUSQ Nut +***Query “Mark Brown Doobie Brothers Interview“ on YouTube to find a conversation with the man who built this ripper.
