Roy Noble

2012 Roy Noble Deluxe Concert Guitar with Calton Custom Case *RARE* Redwood Top

$5,000.00

Excellent condition  /  SN: 420 1-11/16" width at nut. Rare Redwood top. This 2012 Roy Noble Concert Guitar has a very rare highly figured Redwood top, with Cocobolo back, sides, and a mahogany neck. The top was recently refinished due to a surface blemish near the front of the bridge that was examined and stabilized by a local professional luthier at Atlanta Vintage Guitars. The luthier was meticulous and performed a series of layered lacquer applications over a period of 9 months to properly cure the refinish. The crack was situated behind the saddle slot on the bridge where the string pins are inserted and that was repaired as well. The peg head overlay features a single diagonal strip of Maple that extends from the top of the peg head to the nut. An Abalone truss rod cover above the bone nut with "Noble" written down the center. Shallow rounded "D" profile Mahogany neck is in excellent shape with no dings or scratches. The neck is shaped in a way that makes this guitar easy and fun to play. The Rosewood fingerboard has beautiful cross shaped Abalone inlays. This guitar has a strap button at the base of the neck with the bottom button at the base of the guitar being the 1'4" jack plug input for the low profile Fishman Rare Earth Humbucking pickup situated in the sound hole (as shown in the pictures). The Rare Highly figured Redwood top is a gorgeous piece of wood. The top features handmade red, black, and white rope style purfling. The sound hole features this same handmade purfling. The Ebony bridge features white bridge pins and a bone saddle. Flame Maple binding on the top edge of the Redwood top. The Cocobolo back and sides have no visible scratches or dings, Flame Maple binding on the back edge of the Redwood top and bottom. This 2012 Roy Noble Concert guitar falls into the category of a "Deluxe" model due to the wood combination that Roy built into some of his concert model guitars. Here is an excerpt from a Roy Noble publication: "The Standard features mahogany and Indian rosewood construction, while the Deluxe features mahogany, Indian rosewood, Koa, Pau Ferro, or Cocobolo. The Custom offers construction with Koa, Pau Ferro, Cocobolo or CITES certified Brazilian Rosewood." Not only a beautiful art piece to look at and admire, but it also sounds fantastic and the playability is wonderful. This guitar is good for any style of playing. It has very minor signs of wear. Comes with a nice custom fitted Calton Case (Originally $1500 by itself)
