14x7.75 2 ply Sassafras steambent semi-solid snare drum Shell by Erie drums and shells. It is made from 2 plies of 1/8" thick steambent Sycamore with a 1/4" total thickness. most of our wood is local and from about 50 miles from our shop in summit county Ohio. Our new 2 ply semi-solid shells give you all the purity of tone of a solid shell steambent, but without the restrictions to openness of tone caused by reinforcement rings. These are extremely open and full in tonal range, but much more controlled than a traditional steambent. The shells are 1/4" thick. This is a bare shell with no edges or beds. edges, beds and a basic lug position layout are available for an extra $30 charge. shell can be cut to any depth at no additional charge.
