14x7 2 ply, Vintage Black Walnut, steambent semi-solid snare drum Shell by Erie drums and shells. It is made from 2 plies of 1/8" thick steambent local hardwoods with a 1/4" total thickness. Our vintage woods are made from lumber that was cut and milled decades ago. Vintage wood shells may have worm holes, Knots or other character resulting from it's age. All our wood is local and from about 50 miles from our shop in summit county Ohio. Our new 2 ply semi-solid shells give you all the purity of tone of a solid shell steambent, but without the restrictions to openness of tone caused by reinforcement rings. These are extremely open and full in tonal range, but much more controlled than a traditional steambent. The shells are 1/4" thick. This is a bare shell with no edges or beds. Edges, beds and a basic lug position layout are available for an extra $30 charge. shell can be cut to any depth at no additional charge, Or send us all the parts and we will complete and badge the drum for $125.
