Peter Madill is a renowned New Zealand based luthier who builds wonderful stringed instruments and has built guitars for a host of well known NZ musicians. He built this guitar for his friend as a wedding gift.AAAA Alaskan spruce top, hand selected Mahogany grown in Fiji, Indian rosewood binding, ebony fretboard and bridge, ebony with abalone dot bridge pins, herring bone rosette and back stripe. 2 piece (split length ways) Mahogany neck for extra strength, 25” scale, 1 7/8” nut, Gotoh mini tuners, Martin hard case.Fishman pickup installed. Recent neck reset (bolt-on), full frets, bone nut and fully compensated (individual string) saddle. The hand rubbed nitro finish is very thin which gives the guitar a gorgeous natural look allowing the woods to come through as well as maximizing resonance.Jumbo size guitar, highly resonant, very balanced with huge projection. The action is low, comfortable and perfect throughout the fretboard. Notes and chords absolutely jump off the top. Currently setup with 11-52’s and in standard tuning down a full step (D).Cost of 7k to have one of these built, which is an absolute bargain.
